Author, Poet, Creative

Welcome readers, wishers, dreamers, and believers

I am an author and poet based in Austin, TX. When I’m not exploring themes of identity, culture, and power in my writing, you can find me working with a nonprofit organization centered around equitable feedback practices, “hiking” around town, binding books, reading, or rewatching a comfort anime that has a 90% chance of making me cry. The Year I Was Everything is my second publication, following my debut poetry collection journey back to Me.

The Year I Was Everything is out now!

My second collection of poetry and prose, The Year I Was Everything, follows me on my journey as I strive to understand the wonders of this world and what it means to be human within it.

The Year I Was Everything was a powerful, poetic read! Through magical realism, or the incorporating of physical or symbolic magic in a real world or cultural setting, and the perfect execution of elemental allegories and metaphors, Lexi Bruner discusses the joys and struggles that come with what defines her as both a woman and a poet…. The poetry and messages behind them truly spoke to me and I highly recommend not missing out on this collection of poems!

Read the debut poetry collection, journey back to Me!

A collection of poetry and prose exploring themes of love, sex, relationships, identity, and self through five chapters, journey back to Me is a vulnerable and raw recounting of my journey to understand love and life.

journey back to Me is a self published, courageous collection of poems about pain, healing and self love. Lexi's words hold so much passion and emotion that it spews magic out of the pages. This book breathes self empowerment and embraces sexuality, it ignites a fire inside you and leaves you gasping for more. It has helped me heal and turned my pain, into peace. It is truly a piece of art and I am so honored to have been able to read it.
